Vocal Revolver – Another Gun Get's Fired
“… a handful of discontents who at one time used to call themselves a gang.” That’s how Scott Weiland referred to his former band mates in a statement issued yesterday, following his dismissal from the band Velvet Revolver. These guys just can’t seem to catch a break. “This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn’t 100% committed to either,” said Slash, in an announcement on the band’s website. “Among other things, his increasingly erratic on-stage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on.” Again, he could have added. Because the lads have been down this same road before with their old buddy Axl Rose.
Weiland, for his part is rejoining his old friends in a reunited Stone Temple Pilots tour. While I very much enjoy Velvet Revolver’s music, I was sad to see the demise of STP in the first place. Interstate Love Song is a classic. Let’s hope they can recapture the magic they had before and turn it into something good before Scott gets incarcerated for his stoned temple driving.
